The Cyberwitch

The cyberwitch is the modern witch. She e-mails rather than writes her Grimore with a quill - or, at least, participates in both. She composes letter to be sent etherically, much as the ancient magickians formulated Words of Power and chanted them with intent during ritual. She knows her messages will directly affect the recipient - this is a type of immediate modern magick. Therefore, she selects her words and their readers carefully, and is capable of influencing another being from a great distance at the press of 'Send.' She networks and chats with kindred spirits, a scenario that was only possible astrally until not so long ago. The modern era is a great gift to the witch as well as to her non-esoteric peers, and she takes advantage of it.
Now there are entire covens and gatherings who meet only over the Internet. This is far from unnatural - it is astral communication clarified. She is also able to pop in on sites belonging to like - or un-like-minded persone with similar interests, and to share her views, often anonymously. The Internet in many ways takes the danger out of magickal empathy - for, if the person with whom one is communicating is not physically present, and knows not one's physical specifics, the interaction can only be intellectual, psychic and honest.
There are some excellent sites with many members available to the cyberwitch. For the neophyte, the Children of Artemis website is highly recommended  (http://www.witchcraft.org/). There are many young members on this site, as well as knowledgeable Elders. The more advanced occulist is advised to surf for topics of specific - Yahoo.co.uk and Yahoo.com are particularly good search engines for witchy topics. American readers are directed to http://www.witchvox.com/ , which contains a comprehensive guide to relevant sites, as well as many contacts.
