Cancer is a Water sign indicating the emotions and feelings. It is also a Cardinal sign bringing eagerness, impatience, action and anxiety Those born with the Sun in Cancer generally appear to be self-assured even tough, whereas underneath they can be highly sensitive and easily hurt. They are home makers and clannish, protective and defensive of their families. Cancerians require a secure shelter from the outside world into which they can retreat to recover from their wounds both real and imagined. They are usually shrewd and intuitive and have a good memory, making them good students, but are apt to let their emotions color their lives and actions. They are good at caring for others and nurturing all manner of living things. They tend to be romantic, sentimental and tender although often appearing clingy.
