Moon in Gemini - The Moon in Gemini wakes us up; we lose our concentration but quicken our communication. The conversation sparkles, our thinking broadens but doesn't deepen. This transit is a time to network, investigate, translate, brainstorm, meditate, edit, explain and broadcast. The Moon in Gemini quickens our nervous system. Build a web of understanding and absorb new information. This is a time communication and other means of expression, freedom, adaptability, reading or writing, desires for variety and having more than one thing going at once. You may feel talkative. All communications are easier during a Gemini transit. We can be more adaptable and changeable but you should take all statements with a grain of salt, especially when dealing with those who have proven fickle in the past. It's a hard time to make any decisions, but a good time to use your wit and cleverness in conversation. Issues of the practical world are set aside. Towards the end of this transit (late Sunday nite), when the moon approaches the sign of Cancer, interactions and communications become more emotional. Moon in Gemini is the best time to work magick for good communication, change of residence, writing, public relations and travel. Healing rituals for ailments of the shoulders, arms, hands or lungs are also done during this period of time. Those who born under a Gemini Moon sign can talk to anyone, think fast, multi-task, shift moods with grace, but need to choose depth and focus.

Apples are key part of the Samhain season, which is occasionally called the Apple Sabbat. The five pointed star found in the cross section is also a symbol of the Craft. They have long tradition of being used in love divination and celebratory at this time. Apples are frequently placed on the altar at this time, whether whole or in part. They are sometimes used as a substitute for the biscuits and rough Cider in place of wine, in the Rite of Wine, Cakes and Cider.
One of the ways of producing a long-term reminder of the season is to create a dried Apple Ring. You will need to slice several apples across the core to create sufficient equal-sized apple rings. Place the slices on kitchen paper (parchment paper) and put into a very low, barely warm oven, until they have completely dried out. If the oven is too warm they may curl, but this can be rectified if you put them under a heavy weight for a day or so. As they dry the apple slices will darken, becoming quite brown, but if you prefer a paler ring then paint both sides of each slice with lemon juice as soon as they have been cut. Once your slices are completely dry and flat, arrange and glue them into a ring. This should be placed in a warm dark place, again under weights, for a further few days to ensure it has fully dried. At this point it can, if you wish, be varnished. Your Apple Ring can then be decorated and hung by a ribbon if you wish.
