New Moon - (or dark moon) rises at sunrise and sets at sunset. Astrologically, the Sun and Moon are in conjunction. Because the Sun's light overpowers the nearby Moon in the day, and the Moon is on the other side of the of the Earth with the Sun at night, she is not visible in the sky at all. The New Moon is like a SEED planted in the earth. We cannot see her but she is ready to grow, full of potential and energy for her new journey. The New Moon is beginning of a new lunar cycle. Keywords for the New phase are: beginning, birth, emergence, projection and clarity. It is the time in a cycle that you are stimulated to take a new action. During this phase the new cycle is being seeded by your vision, inner and outer. Engage in physical activity. Spend time alone. VISUALIZE your goals for the 29.6-day cycle ahead. Those who are born at the New Moon phase are impulsive, passionate, and intuitive. They are risk takers and pioneers.

Solar Eclipse of July 1st, 2011

A partial solar eclipse will occur on July 1, 2011. A solar eclipse occurs when the Moon passes between Earth and the Sun, thereby totally or partially obscuring the image of the Sun for a viewer on Earth. A partial solar eclipse occurs in the polar regions of the Earth when the center of the Moon's shadow misses the Earth.

This is the first solar eclipse of Saros cycle 156, only visible as a partial solar eclipse in a small area south of South Africa and north of Antarctica. At greatest eclipse, the magnitude will be just 0.097. [1]

This eclipse is the third of four partial solar eclipses in 2011, with the others occurring on January 4, 2011, June 1, 2011, and November 25, 2011.
