Balsamic Moon - The Balsamic Moon (or waning crescent moon) rises before dawn and sets mid-to-late afternoon. She is the last sliver of the Moon seen in the eastern sky in the dawn and in the very early morning. The Balsamic Moon is the COMPOST phase, when the nutrients remain in the soil, providing nourishment for the next new seed. Those who are born during the Balsamic Moon possess
the potential to be wise, insightful, understanding and patient. They are prophetic and unique.  The Balsamic phase is the end of one cycle and the beginning of another. Keywords for this phase are: transition, release, transformation, renewal and purity. It is the phase in a lunar cycle when you must let go of everything you have been working on that does not deal with current cycle issues. During this moon phase you reflect on the passing cycle and prepare for the new. Trust in renewal. It is important to separate from others now so that you can clear the intellect of negativity. LET GO. Become still and meditate.

Moon in Virgo - During this moon transit you are asked what needs healing, what needs composting. It's time to study, learn, train, organize and turn your compassion into pragmatic action. Don't get stuck in your head. Plant and care for medicinal herbs. Those who are born with a Virgo Moon sign came here to diagnose and heal their souls and the world's. They need to learn to celebrate the beauty in each of us. They offer us practical compassion and ancient wisdom.  During this transit, important issues are practicality, organization, cleaning up your diet and/or your house, healing your body or offering healing to others and attending to loose ends.  Being that it's Monday and the ending days of a lunar cycle, this sounds like a good transit to have now.  After the Leo party, it's time to clean up your act, and turn our attentions to the latter of our health and hygiene. Practical Virgo cleans the house, sets thing in order, washes the dog (thinking about doing this today), and harvests the vegetables. (Here is a good article on how energy is wasted - http://www.aolnews.com/nation/article/study-american-food-waste-is-a-huge-energy/-drain/19657522?icid=main%7Caim%7Cdl1%7Csec1_lnk3%7C174974  hope this long link works.  Also a great book to check on is "Waste: Uncovering the Global Food Scandal"

and American Wasteland: How America Throws Away Nearly Half of Its Food (and What We Can Do About It) http://www.amazon.com/American-Wasteland-America-Throws-Nearly/dp/0738213640/ref=sr_1_1?s=books&ie=UTF8&qid=1286204434&sr=1-1  )  During a Virgo Moon transit women are mentally active but there is a tendency to excessive criticism both of oneself and and others. Emotionally this is an inward time, when we can reflect on personal relationships.  Also another good thing to be during this waning days of the lunar cycle.    Moon in Virgo is the best time to work magick involving employment, intellectual matters, health and dietary concerns. Healing rituals for ailments of the intestines or nervous system are also done during this period of time.

Today is Moon Day - the Day of Remembering and Feeling... There Major magickal energies for Clearing Obstacles to Borrowing Money and minor magickal energies for resolving domestic issues.

Witches need to know:  the history of Wicca, the rituals of the Goddess and the God and the eight great Sabbats; herbalism; the basics of numerology; the proper use of talismans and runes; the properties of minerals, metals, and stones and how they interact with the cycles of the celestial bodies; reading auras; spells of protection, healing, binding, and banishment. Also learn about the Guardians of the Watchtowers.  There is plenty other information because a Witch never stops learning but these are some things to consider learning about and perhaps they can become some of your goals for the next
lunar cycle.
