New Moon - The New Moon (or dark moon) rises at sunrise and sets at sunset. Astrologically, the Sun and Moon are in conjunction. Because the Sun's light overpowers the nearby Moon in the day, and the Moon is on the other side of the Earth with the Sun at night, she is not visible in the sky at all. The New Moon is like a SEED planted in the earth. We cannot see Her but She is ready to grow, full of potential and energy for her new journey. Those who are born in the New Moon phase are impulsive, passionate
and intuitive. They are risk takers and pioneers. This is the beginning of a new cycle. Keywords for the New Moon phase are: beginning, birth, emergence, projection and clarity. It is the time in a lunar cycle that you are stimulated to take a new action. During this phase the new cycle is being seeded by your vision, inner and outer. Engage in physical activity. Spend time alone. VISUALIZE your goals for the 29.6-day cycle ahead.
Reed Lunar Cycle - Ngetal Ng
This is the twelfth moon, the number of established power, preceding the death moon numbered 13. Reeds have musical connections in their use as wind instruments. As scepters, they are symbols of command.

Wasted Food
"Here's an evocative image: Just take $2,200 in cash and flush it down the toilet. Better yet, dump it into the garbage disposal - it'd be more fitting. That amounts is how much the average family of four loses in wasted food each year." ..... "Whether you squander $2,200 annually or not - and it's been shown that people tend to underestimage their own profligacy - food waste likely has a significant impact on your budget. Your groceries are 'sunk costs.' You've spent your money on that food, and now you either use it or squander its value. This inefficient use of goods represents a 'market failure'. There is no way to resell the items you've already brought 'just to be on the safe side.' Food's perishability and our social norms preclude a secondary market for household foods. Craigslist has created many new markets, but this isn't one of them. Even with shelf-stable foods, I haven't heard of any peer-to-peer selling."

Enjoy reading your blog, but don't often make comments. But always enjoy reading.
I think people tend to buy far to much food. Especially in thinking they have to have lots of snacks as well. Why can't people simply buy what is needed as and when. And any sort of waste can go on the compost heap
