Moon in Capricorn - brings planning magick and takes your ideas giving them form and hope. We can tap into the inner wisewoman - ask how form, ritual,  organization and tradition can serve. This transit concerns leadership, issues, security, responsibilities, the need to be recognized, desire to create environments, time to take care of business. deal with alternative healing for your body and intensification of your powers of concentration. After Sagittarius expansiveness, now we feel contraction and a time to pay attention to our needs for security, duties, obligations, drives and ambitions. It's good for setting and achieving goals, 'going for it' materially; as now we feel persistent and ambitious. Capricorn brings a desire to create environments and energy is slowed down. Be careful to avoid insensitivity to others, and stay out of negative and pessimistic mind sets that will only drag you down. Take this moon transit to deal with material plane, especially if you have neglected it too long. Do non-traditional healing as Capricorn is the sign of the medicine woman. Moon in Capricorn is the best time to work magick for organization, ambition, recognition, career and political matters. Healing rituals for the knees, bones, teeth and skin are also done at this time.

Today is Woden's Day - Mercury Day - the Day of Communication and Connection.. There are Major magickal energies for spells/rituals for politics and negotiations.

"Write or speak,
words smoothly flow.
You will hear
what you should know
to grant my desires.
Blessed Be.
You will want what's best for me."

Smudge Sticks

Smudge sticks are usually short, fat bundles of herbs, tightly tied, which can be lit to produce a form of incense. They may be a single herb,  a combination or include other ingredients such as resin. Smudge sticks are primarily used in personal workings to cleanse, purify, or bring about an altered state of consciousness. It is thoughts they originated in the Native American tradition, where they were used to invoke spirits and enable journeys to the spirit world.
The most common ingredients in smudge sticks are Sage, Thyme, Rosemary, Lavender; indeed any woody herbs which will burn slowly and steadily. There may be resins such as Copal or Frankincense, or a few drops of essential oils such as Jasmine or Sandalwood. To make your own, gather a herb with stems about 6 to 8 inches long. Spread them out in a warm, dry place until they are thoroughly dried, as moist herbs will give far too much smoke. Bind the stems tightly together in a bundle with threads, around their lower third to half. Your bundle needs to be dense, otherwise it will burn too quickly. You may like to experiment with different herbs and tying techniques before you find the one(s) which work(s) for you. When you are ready to use your smudge stick, light the top then blow out the flames, so that it smolders and smokes. Waft the smoke around your body from head to toes to cleanse and then from toes to head to work your spell. Some people like to enhance the movement of the smoke with a feather.
